Suz is an absolute star in "More Joy". The captivating storytelling mixed with distinctive characters - ranging from people from her real life to inanimate objects - draws you in for quite a ride! I left the show deeply appreciative of all parents for what they have to do, and I left inspired by Suz's message: do what brings you joy. The entire show is packaged together so well - the pacing, the music, the stories, and the characters, all come together in what feels like watching a limited series. It's a mix of Toni Collette in "United States of Tara" mixed with Phoebe Waller-Bridge in "Fleabag" with a special twist that is just only Suz. ... full review

Suzannah is a fantastic, charismatic, engaging, funny, deep story-teller. What a writer! What a performer! She had us all in the palm of her mothering hand from the drop. I loved getting to know her through this show - and her fearless generous way. I feel lucky to have seen it. Gorgeous solo show. Two big mummy thumbs up!... full review

Suzannah Butcher puts her big heart on her sleeve in this thoroughly watchable, delightful outing exploring the headaches and heartache of motherhood. Her eagerness to take the audience on a journey through her mistakes, mess-ups, and motivations translates into a solo show that kept this audience laughing in recognition. Five out of five stars!... full review

More Joy: A Mumoir Suzannah’s brilliant and hilarious solo show had me enthralled start to finish! Her visceral depictions of early motherhood, her surprisingly accurate impressions of certain private parts (ahem) and her honest, playful warnings to her children’s teachers in the audience that evening made me laugh AND cry as I recalled my own experience as a new mom. I wish Suz was in my mom-group all those years ago…she seems fun, postpartum depression be gone! From her depiction of inner critic, Babs to her stronghold of other dead-on characters(some I’m sure I’ve met in the greater Los Angeles area) I felt a palpable, almost chemical flashback to my own experience as a young mom. Go see it now before it’s too late!... full review

Suzannah is a rare talent who excels at both writing/telling stories as herself AND embodying a variety of distinct characters. Each of these performance styles are difficult to do well on their own, so it is incredible to watch Suzannah nail them both in this show. ... full review
