More Joy: A Mumoir is a joyful solo, storytelling and character show about motherhood anxiety and self-love. It is told through a pastiche of real life stories in the style of The Moth, with a sprinkling of character work and dream sequence randomness.
It’s an Eat Pray Love tale, about a frazzled, first time Mum, who doesn’t have the luxury of a trip to Italy or Bali because her small kids are either hanging off her leaky boobs, or are down A&E having eaten the mushroom chocolate!
Suz has a bad case of the baby blues and a postpartum vagina that smells like rotting steak. With her self-deprecating British humour and bitchy inner critic Babs for company, she navigates isolation, loneliness and the monolithic identity crisis that is early motherhood.
Suzannah Butcher is a British Mum, writer and actor living in LA. She was the former Food Editor at Good Housekeeping UK and across Hearst UK titles and wrote long running recipe column, Quick & Easy in the Daily Mail.
Since moving to LA she’s grown her Instagram following @suzandfood where she combines her unique combination of comedy, character sketches and cookery. She is studying improv, sketch writing and story telling at The Groundlings School, LA.
She has told real life stories in the style of The Moth at RISK! Live show at The Elysian Theatre, LA and most recently she performed a story from More Joy: A Mumoir at The Backyard Comedy Series, Larchmont Boulevard, LA.

‘Suzannah is one of the most effortlessly charming and hilarious performers I’ve ever had the pleasure of directing or working with. She transforms into wildly entertaining fictional characters whilst also possessing the rare ability to tell a totally engaging personal story as her purest true self. Her writing is simultaneously full of humour, paths and heart. He newest show is tremendously funny, heartwarming and so wonderfully vulnerable – as is she.’ David Crabb, Groundlings Main Company Current Cast, Host of The Moth & RISK!
