What I liked

This was my second time seeing the show and I loved it as ever. I very much enjoyed the addition of the remarks to label all the new accents as Innokenty encountered them, and would love to see that expanded to more parts of the play.

What I didn't like

I did feel that some scenes transitioned into the next just a tad abruptly, and I think that the meaning and power of those scenes could be better preserved with an ever so small pause before moving on. Just an extra breath would do. One scene that comes to mind was with Innokenty and Lauren(?) after they walk back from the mechanic together, but there were a few other times I felt this way too. A one-man-show is an immense challenge, as you need to fill all the time with your own voice, but it can probably benefit both you, and the audience, to take an extra breath sometimes. Great work!!

My overall impression

The Good Russian is an endearing story of a man with a heart of gold navigating his dreams—and their practical possibilities—in the confusing but quaint world of the English countryside. Andrew Byron demonstrates a feat of dialect, stamina, and physicality as he represents all players in this bustling cast of characters. A delightful and heart-warming story that is sure to entertain everyone.
