The way the artist flowed through various times of Josiah’s life—childhood, teenage years, adulthood—with such ease. The simple but impactful props on stage.
I loved that this made me reflect on my legacy as a Black woman in America who is also Christian. How audacious of me to be afraid to take risks when my legacy is one like Mr. Henson’s! Surely, bold, courageous, freedom-rooted living is not only my birthright—it’s in my DNA.
Thank you for inspiring me into action to live more unafraid, more bold, more courageous, and more out loud—not only by sharing this story in particular, but by leading by example and stepping into a new chapter after military service.
What I didn't like
Nothing. Though I would love if more eyes could see this, more ears could hear this, and more hearts could feel this. This is a story that needs to be known. Thank you for bringing this into my world. Or perhaps better said, for bringing me into Mr. Henson’s.
My overall impression
This was absolutely powerful! I didn’t know what I was in for (my friend was going and I gladly tagged along), and the opening scene immediately grabbed my attention— the actor’s commitment to his craft and Mr. Henson’s story was eye-opening and world-shifting.
Thank you for sharing this story so boldly, so beautifully, and so fully.
