I liked that this was a one man show. I liked that it was short, potent and impactful. I loved the costume, the hair and makeup. I loved the flyers as well as the little cotton pouches. I also liked the venue (functionality, atmosphere and decor) and I appreciated having parking.
What I didn't like
Actor’s voice could have been a little louder in the beginning but it carried itself nicely to the majority of the performance.
My overall impression
In this deeply moving and quintessential performance, Core promptly shatters the surface of written history through his heartfelt embodiment of the unspoken story of Josiah Henson. Gifting the audience a felt sense experience of this remarkable man in his deepest humanity and essence. It is the kind of performance that shakes you to your very core, breaks your heart right open and summons us all back not only into our shared and painful collective history but mainly into our most profound and sacred collective essence and humanity.
