What I liked
I loved the specifics. Small physical bits and expressions that killed because when Sandy sings YOU LEAN IN! It is also an absolute party. Things getting shot into the audience and going awry, Sandy taking phone calls, tech issues and fog machines. THIS IS A SHOW!
What I didn't like
Could’ve been even longer with more songs. Everyone left wanting even more.
My overall impression
Sandy McCloud is an amalgamation of Lou Reed, a feral animal and Jimmy Buffet. It as a solo show to put all others to shame. Lane as an amazing character comedian and clown shines in this format. This was a show in a small theater that had laughter bouncing off the walls every second. This show feels like going to see a recent Frankie Valli show. Sandy is at his last stop and we are blessed to be there for the crashout.
