What I liked
The entire concept, the lyrics, the dramatic light shifts, the story underneath about family and loss. I appreciated that there was some depth and that beneath this angsty golfer is a dad who is lonely. I LOVE the phone call in the dark.

My overall impression
Songs About Golf reminded me of the power of comedy. I was laughing so much that there was space to heal. Lane is not only a hilarious and committed clown, he is a smart lyricist and powerful actor. It’s the perfect combination. A silly idea executed with fierce commitment makes for a brilliant show.
