The actors work together effortlessly. I loved how each have different perspectives on the situation – optimism, ambivalence, desperation, futility. The reactions to real outside sirens and helicopters further add a realistic element of terror. The use of space – the curtained windows, chair arrangement, cracks in the door – creates a truly immersive and unsettling feel.

My overall impression
This show could be an episode of Black Mirror. The immersive show puts the audience in the middle of a dystopian, though not terribly unrealistic, world. We learn over the course of the Meeting what has happened and the mystery surrounding the Leader and Boot Crews adds to the tension. Poignant questions about the importance, relevance, necessity, and perhaps even inevitability of art guide the show and force the audience to reflect on their own experiences and values. An important piece of theatre especially in light of current events.
