About the Project

The play by journalist and playwright Sérgio Roveri, winner of the Shell Award for Best Playwright in 2006 in Brazil, explores the role of chance and its undeniable power to bring change into people’s lives.

Thiago Carvâlhonts directs the new production, presented for the first time in Los Angeles.

The story follows characters who have only a few hours to alter the course of their lives.

Where The River Meets The Sea, performed by Leonardo Sidney and Thiago Carvâlhonts , and produced by Isabela Quilodrán.

Synopsis: "I turned up the volume and accelerated—more, and more.
I think that was the first time I wanted to show someone that I could have adventure in my life."
A love marked by death and consumed by guilt brings Marcelo to the edge of a bridge, staring into the void. Just as he’s about to make a final decision, a voice cuts through the silence.
“It’s too early,” says a man who lives beneath the bridge.
What follows is an unexpected conversation between two strangers—one ready to let go, the other forgotten by the world. Their raw connection may, or may not, change the course of what happens next.

Where the River Meets the Sea is a rough-edged dive into love, guilt, redemption, and the kind of human connection that can break you open—or bring you back.
