I loved the connections and correlations to Laural’s life and experiences, and the bravery and vulnerability with which she shared her story. The staging was also lovely in its simplicity and effectiveness. I always love an audience participation element. And the banter and exchanges with Fred as her Ted were perfection. Lastly, I was truly struck by the power of the lighting shifts, especially at the end when the relationship between audience and performer is illuminated (pun intended!). I enjoyed every minute!
What I didn't like
My one and only note was that the title was never explained/addressed in the content. I think it will works, but could be fun to hear it or see it come out at some point in the piece. We love a callback!
My overall impression
What a theatre treat! The perfect combination of entertainment and intriguing information, with the added bonus of wonderful songs brought to life by Laural’s incredible voice. Highly recommend!!
