What I liked
First of all, Laural is an incredible singer. These pieces are indeed dated, but she fills them with a personal connection that really takes them to the next level. Pair that with the EXPERT interplay between her and her pianist Fred and you have a master class in Vaudeville within the show about a Vaudeville performer. I loved learning about Sofie Tucker and her contribution to modern comedy, especially through the lens of Laural’s own personal experience. But my favorite thing is seeing a broad age range in the audience and having EVERYONE share the experience; Laural’s show has transcended age and age barriers. This is a show for EVERYONE.

My overall impression
Full disclosure: I’ve been a fan of Laural (and this show) since the first time I saw it almost a year ago. I am so elated that Laural brought it to the Hollywood Fringe! This is everything I want in a Fringe show: history, stellar performance, witty banter and all the feelings. There’s a reason this show keeps popping up in Hollywood: it’s fantastic and audiences are finding out. Don’t miss this one!
