The show was thoroughly engaging, well paced, and wonderfully done. The interspersed real life experiences of Sophie Tucker and Laural Meade merged together beautifully as we grew to know both performers. The songs and music wove it all together, bolstered by the charming Fred Cassidy playing both the piano and several roles from Ms. Tucker’s long list of paramours. The audience participation and interaction added another layer of intimacy as Laural/Ms Tucker shared their escapades and secrets with us. And us with her -:)
What I didn't like
Nothing…I saw this show in another incarnation in a supper club, and it was very good. But this new, reworked version makes it even better and more complete.I hope it grows legs and finds more venues to play. Maybe New York, too.
