Maybe a little patter or wink before the first song. I understand the value of a cold opening, but the ease and comedy was a little illusive at first. Perhaps it was just the night?
My overall impression
Laural Meade is stunning, hilarious, and oh-so-moving in this tour de force show. This shiksa can sing, shake it and shines to perfection in her deep and courageous take on Miss Tucker and herself. Laural bounces from from ballsy & breezy to vulnerable & gut-wrenching with masterful ease. And her interplay with Fred Cassidy, her wonderful accompanist, and with the audience, is delightful and right on target – fun, unforced and sexy. Do not miss this show!!!!
