The true human connection and vulnerability of the show coupled with brash and confident humor will win you over. Laural will wow you with her powerful voice, both as a singer and as a talented writer/performer. It’s an hour plus of joy and catharsis, laughter and an occasional tear.
What I didn't like
Having seen the show previously at the Gardenia, I can say that Laural Meade has polished this into a shining gem that hits all the right notes!
My overall impression
Laural Meade is radiant, both as her extraordinary self and as the legendary Ms. Sophie Tucker. You will revel in her boisterous humor, poignant self reflection, immersive and inclusive storytelling, and her absolutely gorgeous vocals so beautifully enlivened and supported by Fred Cassidy on the piano. Do yourself a favor and come out to see this show – not only will you spend the evening with an extraordinary performer but, just maybe, you will learn a little something about yourself along the way.
