What I liked

I liked hearing the songs of the era. I loved the lyrics of those songs, and Ms. Meade is a superb vocalist and interpreter of those songs. I appreciated that she chose to do a show about a star who was once so famous and so popular, but who is largely forgotten today. It’s good to be reminded and educated about someone who filled the world with her vitality and stamina for so many years.

What I didn't like

I might’ve liked a few more specific anecdotes of Sophie Tucker’s career and the challenges she faced in a time of very different racial and sexual perceptions and prejudices.

My overall impression

Entertaining and enjoyable cabaret with great old songs and a superb singer/song stylist in Ms.Meade. A fun tribute to one of the greats of show business history-Sophie Tucker.
