Meade has the voice, poise and risqué comedic timing required to play Tucker and then some. Her on-stage pianist Fred Cassidy is a delightful deadpan straight man. This show is perfect for fans loyal to entertainers from Mae West to Carol Channing to Ethel Merman to Totie Fields to Bette Midler. Come on along folks: Ms. Tucker will see you now!
What I didn't like
Pivoting away from Meade’s story to focus more on Tucker’s would make the show bawdier and less sentimental.
My overall impression
A Ribald Night In New York City, 1925:
“Ms. Tucker Will See You Now” is a biographical and autobiographical cabaret performance that explores the life and times of vaudeville red-hot-mama Sophie Tucker, and musical theater creator Laural Meade, over the course of a show comprised of scandalous songs and even more scandalous stories.
