About the Project
“Che and Allen” chronicles a fictional meeting between heroic guerilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara and “beat” poet Allen Ginsberg at a hotel room on Saint Patrick’s Day 1965 in Limerick Ireland. Diametrically opposed to each others’ politics, lifestyle and world vision, these two self-serving visionaries each maneuver to gain the upper hand in a contest of intractable, competing agendas. Unobtrusively insinuating herself into is this contest of wills is the unflappable Irish housekeeper who, ostensibly, is only there to make sure both men are comfortable and have everything they need.
