My overall impression

I have followed Adam Carpenter and Zach Steele in the “Book Club” series on Funny or Die and Comedy Central online (I HIGHLY recommend these by the way), so of course I jumped at the chance to see them live. No one could have prepared me for how hard I would laugh! I absolutely loved the show. It hit all the right notes of physical comedy, word play, satire, and dark comedy. I dare you to find another live performance that incorporates blood, scrunchies, and taxes! Well, unless they make a live play of American Psycho I guess.

The chemistry between Carpenter and Steele is next level, and they both exude unbelievable energy in this live show. Words fail me in describing how mesmerizing they are. They move seamlessly from silly to intense to dark to sweet as they navigate their hilarious story of a tax evading, show boat, bad boy and his YMCA course loving, quirky, buttoned up IRS agent.

Trust me when I say this is not to be missed. It will violate every expectation you have for live theatre in the best way possible. I plan on seeing the show again and bringing friends who will love it. And you can trust me because I am a doctor.
