The writing was so good and the acting incredibly compelling. A 90 minute show with a single performer (plus a very effective use of a live violinist to punctuate the more dramatic moments) had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
What I didn't like
There were a couple moments where the believability of the plot bumped slightly for me (I don’t want to say more lest I give too much away) but Hailey McAfee sucked me back in with ease every time, quickly re-gripping me with her performance.
My overall impression
Holy hell, this was a phenomenally written, acted, and executed piece. I was riveted from start to finish by an absolutely captivating performance by Hailey McAfee. She took what is often a 2-dimensional villionous character in the cultural zeitgeist and made her human while still managing to never excuse her behavior. You’ll be thinking about this one long after the final, chilling blackout.
