and her Children hooks you from the start with Hailey McAfee’s undeniable charm and effortless command of the audience. What follows is an upsetting and relevant look at America’s dilemma over who to protect and who to silence. If you are familiar with Brecht’s Mother Courage, you will enjoy the references and squirm over how history repeats itself. ... full review

Rosie and Hailey are absolute theatre powerhouses and they have come together to create a masterfully thoughtful and well-executed piece of theatre. You don't have to know anything about Dana Loesch or Mother Courage to enjoy this play - though being familiar with the source material will help you steel yourself for what's coming and see just how brilliantly these two writers have adapted the structure of the original Brecht piece to speak with such clarity, resonance, and urgency to the epidemic of gun violence and these dissonant political times. ... full review

An incredibly nuanced play that explores an important subject with a complex character that challenges its audience. The production is so cohesive from the beautiful design to the sharp staging and powerful performance by Hailey McAfee. ... full review

Hailey and Rosie have again proven themselves to be an impeccable, precise, bold, imaginative and highly specific team. This show is unlike anything I've ever seen - and I've seen a ton of both of these fabulous artists' work. The light and sound designs done by Russell and Padra were brilliant and brought the story to life. Rosie is gifted at bringing out the best in her team and shaping the impulses into a cohesive, bold, one of a kind point of view - and she does that here in spades. It is a group of remarkable artists at the top of their game. ... full review

Hailey McAfee is a stellar performer in a stellar role. A great script; the show was alternately funny and chilling. Well done and original (even if based on Brecht). Check this one out.... full review

The acting was awesome. The character was complicated and layered. I didn't agree with her but I found myself sympathetic to her plight like I found myself when I watched Kate Winslet in "The Reader". The music and the character of the musician offered an interesting counterpoint - both with pros and cons - even though her part was small it was very impactful.... full review

I've been putting off writing this review because, even several days after watching this performance, I still find myself grappling and coming to terms with what all transpired in this ambitious modern adaptation of Mother Courage. So yeah, it's pretty great, I guess.... full review
