It really felt like a love letter to all those little towns that we make and break all our bones in. Very well written, with really stunning relationships. Every actor did a fantastic job! I really loved Aidhan’s portrayal of “Will”. We all know a guy like Will. Someone so locked up in their head and emotions that it makes them frustrating to deal with, but kind, thoughtful, and lovable all the same.
What I didn't like
I think the length of the play did a bit of a disservice to Jonah’s beautiful writing and the actors’ performances! I think there can be some tightening up and really focusing more on these wonderfully complex friendships rather than pulling focus with so much political commentary. I do love how there were such extremely differing viewpoints about things, which made for fun dynamic characters. Jonah does a remarkable job of making us love these damaged but lovely people. I was dying to just see more of them all together.
My overall impression
Felt like a Noah Kahan song come to life. A beautiful play about friendship and the desperate want to stay where you feel safe, but the tide keeps pulling you further and further out to sea.
