What I liked
The story itself is unique and unlike anything I had ever heard, yet still so relatable. Mat is an artistic genius, seamlessly navigating difficult genre switches and impressive traditional and contemporary acting styles with musical theatre chops and an incredible voice.
What I didn't like
There were a few sound and technical difficulties that perhaps could be tightened up, but Mat used them as opportunities to improvise and friends mentioned these were some of their favorite parts of the show..!
My overall impression
This show has stayed with me for the past two weeks. I went to the first show and came back for the next two. After years of fringe performances across the globe, I count this in my top three — and probably my overall favorite. Excellently crafted, beautifully written, silly, heart wrenching, powerful, and poignant, this tells a real queer story through the eyes of a true artist. I am blown away by the power this show has and can’t wait to see where it goes.
