What I liked
The lyrics by Jeremy Desmon were perfection. They captured each moment in a creative way, never writing “on the nose” and always in a creative, poetic manner. The music was so catchy throughout! My husband and I were singing the score the rest of the night. The song, “The Voice” is beyond amazing and is destined to be a Broadway classic.
What I didn't like
I wanna see this fully staged now!
My overall impression
Excellent on every level. From the book, to the music and lyrics, to the performances, to the staging, to the timeliness, to the emotion, to the instantly classic score, this show scored 100% for me. I teach musical theatre in high school and I know my students will be obsessed with this show when it comes out.
