“Their chemistry was absolutely sublime! Incredibly entertaining from start to finish. The quick changes had me in stitches. These two are like the modern version of Laurel and Hardy.” -certified reviewer
UPDATE: 3 shows remaining…matinees Sat and Sun and a Sunday 10pm show just added! All seats are pwyc. However, if you’re a tapped out participant then simply plug in “HFFThanks” for a comp! Or just show up and drop a dollar or two in the cashbox…or not. All the absurdity happens at The Hobgoblin, just two blocks west of The Broadwater!
Woody Allen wrote Mr. Big as a pastiche of hard-boiled detective stories, where a gumshoe is hired to find God. This short parody is part of Woody’s first collection of humorous stories and essays, titled “Getting Even” (1971). Mr. Big has now been adapted for the stage and is a World Premiere! It’s an absurd crime caper playing on different schools of philosophy, with the cynical detective (played by writer/actor Brian Knudson) inspired by film noir types like Philip Marlowe of The Big Sleep and Sam Spade of The Maltese Falcon. All the supporting roles are played by quick-change chameleon Catherine Allison. The opening act features Tuba Heatherton as the iconic Groucho Marx (Woody’s idol)! All seats for the entire run are PWYC with a suggested donation. Wheelchair accessible. Late seating okay but punctuality encouraged as this entire show is only 30 minutes!
