“Slay Me” draws the audience in with its effortless humor—light, sharp, and disarming. Just when you think you’re settling into a comedy, it shifts, revealing unexpected depth beneath the laughs. Writer and solo performer Veronica Rosas demonstrates a deep understanding of her material, crafting a narrative that lingers in your mind. Without ever being heavy-handed, the show hints at something darker underneath, threading tension and emotion through every beat. Directed by Fringe veteran Ashley Karp, this debut from Rosas is a confident, fearless dive into comedy with an unsettling edge. “Slay Me” is both sharp and haunting, delivered with wit and emotional precision.... full review

One of the best shows I’ve seen at Fringe so far! This show is raw, guttural, honest, heartbreakingly real, all at the same time as being absolutely laugh-out-loud hilarious. It’s not an easy feat to write a one hour solo show that grips you from start to finish, but “Slay Me” does just that. We begin with full blown comedy and a performance by Veronica Rosas that will have you barrel laughing. Her comic timing and chaotic charisma on stage is one helluva stand-out, and at times is even reminiscent of the great Lily Tomlin. And just when you think it couldn’t get funnier, the audience gets hit with the cold, dark reality of the struggles of aging, self-acceptance, and depression that leaves us gut-punched. The character and her demons are s... full review

What a powerful, bold, and deeply witty performance! It was raw and vulnerable, and honestly acknowledged the deep, dark, manic, and morbid thoughts that women of a certain age have. It landed on so many levels! The performance was sharp, nuanced, and on point the entire time! I was both laughing and crying!... full review

This show...gosh, it was AMAZING! It touched on so many themes: ageism, suicidal ideation and other mental health issues, familial relationships/trauma, loneliness, parenting... Veronica Rosas delivered an impeccable one woman show. There were twists and turns and a MAJOR plot twist in the middle that had me in utter shock. I was hooked from the beginning and clamoring for more at the end! 45 minutes wasn't enough! We need MORE!... full review

Slay me was a dark comedy, unafraid to talk about mental health, getting older, desirability and self worth. Well written, well acted and effortlessly funny. Go check out this show!... full review

What a freaking twist! Veronica lays her soul bear with raw intense messy realness and cookie batter and yet she is simultaneously so damn funny. I actually snorted! The show was so dynamic and engaging even before I realised the harrowing and hilarious truth of the piece! I love that I had to slowly figure it out like a murder mystery!... full review

Slay me is a delightful, unhinged and moving journey through one woman's exploration of desirability, loneliness and meaning. Veronica doesn't miss a beat; moving seamlessly between genuine, heartbreaking moments and hilarious one liners that will keep your attention from the first second of the show. She's a powerhouse of a performer and this is not one to be missed. ... full review
