The writing is so specific and clever that it demands a fast pacing with high stakes, which the cast was able to master perfectly. I loved the direction—there were so many innovative ways to create an environment or a shape that really sold the writer’s vision. I loved the self-deprecating moments that poked fun at the entertainment industry and artists. The jokes really resonated with me and reminded me that we are all having such a similar human experience, full of joy and surprise and embarrassment and forgiveness. The cast was bold and focused and created nuance to each character that made them each feel like someone we’ve met before. Loved the integration of fourth wall and stage management and some other surprise elements I won’t name because spoilers. Well done. Must see.
What I didn't like
I have nothing critical to say. I think this group took a brilliant script and created magic with just a few props and chairs in a little black box. It’s remarkable.
My overall impression
Wow! Hysterical. This show is a perfect play-within-a-play that any theatre kid turned grown Fringe attendee will absolutely love.
