What I liked
I loved that even those events which some might think would lead to tears, maybe even ‘sobbing’ were kept completely pure … it didn’t indulge moments/events, which kept me, as an audience on the edge of my seat and silently cheering her on! Even the losses weren’t treated so ‘precious’ which is wonderful as we all can relate to the sadness of life’s losses of loved ones … instead she kept her resilience and came back to the Joy! A real fighter, in the best possible way! She kept her ‘chin up’ throughout when others might have given up, jumped ship and so on. Bravo!!
What I didn't like
It’s a work in progress (as Sue and Cindy express) … I honestly think it will just keep getting better & better with each show & new audience.
My overall impression
This is a hilarious, rich, courageous and zany ride! Cindy D’Andrea commits herself 100%! She’s so present in every moment that you can’t help but be with her, feel what she’s feeling and sense both the Joy & the Pathos of specific moments. She’s so fantastic at enacting different characters talking with each other, furry friends included! It stays very alive as her kinesthetic understanding of the material leaves no holes in it. Cindy’s talent oozes out and is off the charts funny! Sue Gisser did a tremendous job of directing the show … keeping everything very specific and not overly precious~ even when touching upon potentially very disturbing events. It remained truth driven and easy to feel empathetic with each situation from Joy to Sadness back to Joy!
