Safety Stew

What I liked

I really loved B.K’s genuine, acting, writing, and overall storytelling. I loved the use of the blender and how creative and relevant it was to her story. I thought this was a wonderful take on how to deal with complicated grief.

What I didn't like

Nothing. Go see the show!

My overall impression

Using a blender to drink nasty cocktails and a paper shredder could come off as a cheap gimmick that gets old about 5 minutes into the show…but not with B.K. Wong’s “Saftey Stew”! This show is one of the best examples of performance art that really tugs at your heart strings. I thought the pacing, the story, costuming, and overall performance was very genuine. B.K. never over acts which created such intimacy for the performance.
