What I liked
I absolutely loved the writing and performance of this show. The direction as well is particularly brilliant, being able to create parallels like talking about the stage of grief of Denial while being in Denial about it… I just absolutely adored everything about this show.
What I didn't like
There were a few moments of stillness during the scene transitions, but also in my own opinion, it was also a nice way of sitting in my own discomfort from my own relation to this subject matter.
My overall impression
This show is an absolute must see! Brenda brings to life an age-old tradition from classic performance art and blends it (pun intended) with a tale about her life that is so full of heart and emotion. A beautiful tale about processing your father’s death… even when he hasn’t been a very good person.
