What I liked

I liked how messed up the story was. It was so horrifying what was happening but the worse it was the funnier it got. Well, until the end, which was disturbing in a very satisfying way. I liked the physicality and flow of it as well. And despite how over the top the situations were, I still really cared about the characters and was able to root for them doing objectively bad things.

My overall impression

This show delighted me. The writing is so incredibly funny, with no shortage of insane decisions made by various characters and situations that hit with so much matter of fact darkness that you cannot help but laugh. A major highlight for me was Pam Eberhardt as Jake, who might be one of my favorite characters I have seen in a piece, ever. Her somehow grounded portrayal of this madwoman is a real lesson in how more rewarding comedic moments can come from playing to truth. Even if that truth is psychotic. That is accurate for the entire cast, by the way — it’s extremely well acted across the board. I loved all the characters.
