What I liked

Every character feels like they were warped in here from their own tonal origin, and yet they manage to play off of each other perfectly. Every single actor had at least one moment that made me think “welp, this goon just stole the show.” No context spoilers to look forward to:

Diane is Mama
Mike’s Exit
Ghost Faye
Jake Feels Something
Scott’s Gassed
Dad Is In It
Curious George

What I didn't like

Make that trigger warning outside the theater bigger!

My overall impression

Sure, it’s fucked up and gross and irreverent and shocking, but what if it was also funny? This play manages to pack more emotions (for the players and the audience) than I’ve experienced in the real world over 35 years. Big ups to the writing, performances, and pacing of the show for managing to couch some BIG payoffs into a show that manages to stay one dirty little step ahead of the crowd for 75 straight minutes. Move over, Chekov’s Gun, because this show has Chekov’s Everything. Including a gun.

If you’re looking for a rollercoaster of tight writing, powerhouse performances, jaw-dropping moments, and belly laughs that will make you feel weird about yourself, this is it. This is the show.
