My overall impression
Honesty and humanity dressed in sequins with a side of tap dancing? YES, PLEASE. This show was absolutely electric from start to finish. My friends and I were belly laughing from the beginning (and may have teared up a bit here and there too). The energy was through the roof and while genuinely laugh out loudable, it really had some beautiful tender moments too.
Huge props to director Director Rebekka Johnson helming the ebbs and flows of the show – marrying comedy, fever pitch and the war between genuine human frailty and epic success – was brilliantly navigated.
The performance by Alisha Gaddis was nothing short of stellar. She gave of her life experiences with such generosity, the audience felt that collective “we’re being let into something very real here” vibe that only great performers can give. And to do it at full speed, no brakes levels? Masterful.
Alisha said so many things out loud that so many of us chronic overachievers push down. What a refreshing and joyful way to open that can of worms. This show is a gift and anyone lucky enough to go see it will know why!!
