There’s a particular kind of courage it takes to admit how much you want to be seen—and “WIN!” captures that hunger with humor, irony, and an infectious beat you can’t help but tap along with. It’s not just about ambition—it’s about what fuels it: the wounds, the wins, and the deep need to matter.
What I didn't like
Really, I just wanted more. The show flew by, and I found myself wanting to see pictures of her childhood wins and trophies, to extend the times tables contest with audience participation, I was especially curious to learn more about her experience as a mother and how that part of her life intersects with her drive to succeed. It felt like a glimpse into something deeper, and I’d love to see that explored more in a future version or extended run.
My overall impression
WIN! is a whirlwind of tap shoes, sequins, talent, and vulnerability—all wrapped up in one brilliant artist: Alisha Gaddis. She shines as a multi-hyphenate talent, letting us see the cracks behind the polish and pain behind the punchlines. Directed with precision and playfulness by Rebekka Johnson, the show dances (literally and emotionally) between high-gloss performance and raw, lived experience. It’s bold, sparkly, hilarious, and heartfelt.
