I could watch Betsy on stage in any project. She has an amazing stage presence and relatability that makes you feel included in her story. I could also watch her do an entire show or television sitcom about her mother. I had full belly laughs every time her “mother” character entered the chat and needed “to drink orange juice” after to catch my breath.(a joke from the show)
As someone who has “never fit into a box,” I really loved the take away message of this story.

My overall impression
Betsy Cox takes you on a relatable, hilarious, and emotional “rags to riches” journey. Betsy has an incredible energy that radiates the room the moment she commands the stage. She tells the story about her struggles with adhd and growing up in Louisiana in a low income household with an eccentric mother(who’s impression is fully embodied and lived in by Betsy) and absent father. This is a true story teller show that is so detailed and well told that it instantly transports you into the world of the wild characters in Betsey’s life.
