syncopated debauchery: a ragtime celebration

What I liked

Eve’s stage presence is charming, engaging, and full of humor, while her deep respect and appreciation for the musicians she honors shines through. I especially enjoyed how she transformed her entire demeanor with each costume change. The blend of education and entertainment was just right.

What I didn't like

The technical equipment and timing could certainly be improved. The microphone cutting in and out was distracting, and although Eve made it amusing, the lighting and sound effects guy could use some sharpening up.

My overall impression

I loved this show! Eve Elliot brought the musicians and social settings of early American ragtime and jazz vividly to life. She didn’t just talk about them—she embodied the musicians, shared stories that revealed their personalities, and played their music with spirit and skill. One highlight: she performed a single song in four different musicians’ styles. Fantastic!
