What I liked

I loved how Eve played the piano in the styles of the characters she portrayed. I also enjoyed the curated anecdotes which transport the viewer to a specific time and place.

Eve does the entire show onstage – complete with costume changes behind a curtain (impressive), and allows for some fun audience participation.

Eve’s personality shines throughout this show, and is a delight.

What I didn't like

Opening night had some technical issues beyond Ms. Elliott’s control.
Piano could be louder (and I would’ve loved to have seen a projection of her hands at the keys).

My overall impression

Not only is Eve Elliott a ripping piano player, she is also a skilled storyteller. She masterfully takes us on a journey through time and place — inhabiting important piano legends from the early Jazz Age. Her characters come to life with creative use of costumes and props, interesting historical anecdotes, and her own personal charm and humor.

The result is a highly entertaining AND educational show!
