Absolutely loved the intimate in-the-round seating. So thoughtfully blocked and designed to make every inch of the space a unique angle of storytelling. I watched it twice, sat in two different seats, and the difference in perspectives really gave some of the scenes entirely different tones and feelings. It’s like seeing the same plot from two POVs.
The acting was top tier. I love seeing young adults playing young adults’ stories. Everything’s so natural and vivid.
Lastly, the writing was so beautifully poetic yet thought-provokingly, heart-wrenchingly memorable. There were a few lines that are delivered in such a powerful way that I heard my heartbeat echoing in my chest, and a few others I saw a part of myself in that I burst into tears.
What I didn't like
The first show, my seat was in the second row, so when the actors were sitting on the floor my sight was partly blocked by the audience in front of me. I got a different seat in the front row the second show and it’s much better. It is a minor issue and didn’t affect my overall experience, but I’d say try to arrive early and get a seat at the front rows if you think you’ll mind.
My overall impression
Thank god the black box was dark enough to hide my tears (I tried so hard to cry silently).
