What I liked

The set design, theatre in the round, leads to an intimacy with the audience that really works. The corners of the stage are hung with floating cloths bearing some of Ray’s and Echo’s most poignant lines, in their different penmanship.

The acting is superb, as the storyline moves between the present and the past, the actresses move seamlessly between the language and mannerisms of young adult women, and those of teenagers.

What I didn't like

There is one chair in the front row closest to the door, that looks like part of audience seating. It is actually a chair the actors use as part of their performance. Because it is closest to the door, latecomers on two different occasions gravitated towards the chair and sat in it. I can’t blame them; if I had arrived late I too would think this is the least disruptive chair to sit in. This resulted in the house having to tell the person to reseat themself. This just needs the simple fix of telling latecomers, prior to letting them in, not to sit in that specific chair.

My overall impression

A haunting and mysterious story of two young women, Ray and Echo, meeting for the first time since they last saw each other as students in a boarding school. As the plot unfolds, we learn more about their relationship and a fateful night they have not talked about until now.
