What I liked

The lighting was beautiful, especially the flashlight moments of interrogation. The use of the space and handling of the poetic text was very well done. Even though the production was in the round, I never felt like I missed any significant action. The relationship between the characters was clear and layered, and the tension throughout was palpable. This show wove an incredibly complex story in just an hour, and I was locked in the whole time.

What I didn't like

Most of the moments that took me out were transitions in the sound and lighting that didn’t quite match the performances onstage. I was craving a recurring lighting/sound motif for each age that would help me track the passage of time better. I was a little confused by what the impetus for the dancing moment was and whether it existed in reality or a dream space. I also don’t know how the characters got from the heaviness of the kiss and argument to the lightness of the ending scene.

My overall impression

This show felt like a poetic dive into an ocean of memories, broken when the characters violently surfaced for air and had to reckon with the ghosts of their pasts.
