I loved Soleil’s use of the space. The raw emotion and vulnerability in the writing and performance. Forced audience participation. The incredibly layered story-telling and character building. How she chooses to reveal information and in what order. And the breaths helped ground me at the moments I needed it most in the show.
What I didn't like
There were a few moments where the audio was a little difficult for me to hear/understand, closed captions/subtitles on projections would be helpful.
My overall impression
An incredibly haunting show— in the best way possible. Soleil gives an overly honest look at the complexities in human relationships. Forces the audience to ponder painful questions. What does imperfect love look like? What is forgiving someone and and what is understanding someone? I’m in absolute awe of the show she created. At times the audience was having the most fun possible and the next we were all writhing in our seats, avoiding eye-contact. Be ready and willing to go through a very personal journey if you come to see this show.
