It can be hard nowadays to remember why people have for centuries loved the theatre, especially when we have so much endless entertainment right at our finger tips. 5:45 reminded me of how important this art form is. 5:45 and Abi’s performance captivate and steal you away from yourself. Immediately you recognize a firmly charming character and not simply an actress performing. At times it feels as if you’re watching the tightest standup everyone in the audience chuckles along, and then she drives a sledgehammer into your stomach and the room goes silent, you feel it… You feel as though she is talking right too you , like you’re the only one in the room, and the black box seems to vibrate and flow as she moves you through her story.
