A very well done slice of life play and hero's journey combo. Like life, sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's serious, sometimes it's tragic. Be prepared to ride the roller coaster of emotions and events of this character's life. It is a very well written, superbly acted play. ...

Abi bravely shares a part of her life with the audience that few would dare. Most of the play is spent fleshing out her life. Her morning routine, petty drama at work, career goals at her job, her failing relationship with her boyfriend, etc. When the dreaded "incident" occurs, I could feel that something was stolen from her. Her routine can not return to normal. It's a powerful message and feeling, to see the changes in someone's life and what they lose. By the end of the play I was filled with anger and sadness. Anger that someone could so selfishly take something from someone, and then sadness knowing that Abi will be going on a journey of healing....

Abi does a great job of exploring and conveying complex thoughts, feelings, and situations in a way that feels clear and simple. Even though the subject matter gets dark and heavy at times, Abi's natural humor and charm shine through, and anyone who has ever had control issues is sure to see themselves reflected in 5:45. ...

The Structure was great. It helped create the character and her world. Abi slipped the audience a mickey and made us comfortable in that world of small dramas and small solutions, and then she took it all away. ...

It can be hard nowadays to remember why people have for centuries loved the theatre, especially when we have so much endless entertainment right at our finger tips. 5:45 reminded me of how important this art form is. 5:45 and Abi’s performance captivate and steal you away from yourself. Immediately you recognize a firmly charming character and not simply an actress performing. At times it feels as if you’re watching the tightest standup everyone in the audience chuckles along, and then she drives a sledgehammer into your stomach and the room goes silent, you feel it… You feel as though she is talking right too you , like you’re the only one in the room, and the black box seems to vibrate and flow as she moves you through her story.
