The comedy was smart. The writing was succinct and intelligently mapped out. And the actors clearly enjoyed their time together. Each performer was uniquely gifted and comedically spot-on. Each performer knew their place and worked in unison and harmony with one another. The lead actress was beautiful and brilliant and brought an energy to the stage that is often lost in today’s deeply sociological and heavy brand of stage production. It was a joy to just laugh and watch love be complicated – and then so simple.
What I didn't like
I don’t have many notes here. I enjoyed it from start to finish or else I would not be taking the time to review. I suppose a couple of tech issues, but I saw it on opening night. Again – I give this show five stars and an urge to anyone to take the time to see it.
My overall impression
This production brought the audience in with an opening that had comedy, mystery, and chaos. I felt immediately curious. As it progressed I was drawn in with the excellent pacing, witty one-liners, and supremely gifted ensemble cast. The two leads were fully committed, their chemistry and characters fully reflected and on display. I cannot wait to see what becomes of this show in the future.
