What I liked

I really enjoyed Adam’s rawness and frankness behind his family’s disfunction. I know people who come from messed up homes and they really dont like to talk about it. You have to be far along your healing journey to turn your trauma into a show. I think Adam is hilarious and i love the bits where he sings. Dude looks like the frontman of a pop-punk band and i liked when he leaned into that. I loved the bits.

What I didn't like

I only really have 2 notes that i would add. The first one being that throughout the show Adam brings up this wrestling metaphor, comparing his family to different WWE stars. However, it doesn’t feel like its weaved in properly. Like he brings it up, and then drops it. Felt like there could’ve been a lot done there. Also i wanted to see more home movies. Because the play starts off with footage of him at his lowest, for some reason i kept waiting to see more footage of other life events. I wanted to see some home videos of his dad and grandpa. Again i know folks who come from abusive households and it always throughs me for a loop when their abusive father just ends up looking like a normal guy. It would’ve been nice to just attach a face to all these names.

My overall impression

A dynamic one man show filled with wrestling and song cues. Adam weaves a hilarious story of family disfunction. It has a lot of heart. Alot of triumph and a lot of lows. Overall if you wanna see a good redemption of someone who’s made it on the other side of alcohol dependency then i strongly recommend watching this show.
