What I liked

Every element, both textual and visual! I honestly would bemoan any kind of enhancement of the set, its simplicity was part of the enchantment itself!

What I didn't like

While writing in a classical style, it’d be cool to bring back the distinctions between “thou” and “you”. Especially in a play like this where relationship dynamics really shift throughout! To the trained ear, it could really go a long way to emphasize moments of rebellion, respect, disdain, etc.

My overall impression

An expertly classical adaptation of a classic! CoBF shines not only in its iambic translation and pitch-perfect casting, but in the apparent scrappiness of its set, costumes, & adapted blocking. Every element was in itself an homage to John Hugh’s 80s-film-era spirit, and a reminder of the deep (and often funny) humanity in classical playwrights like Shakespeare.
