What I liked
The band kicks ass, the bits kill, and the guests are engaging and fun! It was always my dream to host a late-night talk show, and watching Alex fulfill his dream is the next best thing.
What I didn't like
Honestly this show just needs a full house to put the energy over the top. I think it should be an official production of the Fringe admin itself so it could receive that level of support, and help promote the entire festival. I have no idea why it’s not.
My overall impression
THE SHOW IS FREAKIN’ FREE, PEOPLE!!!
Alex is incredibly engaging and quick-witted, and FRINGE! TONIGHT! ALIVE! really delivers the classic late-night talk-show feel. If, like me, you were late Tuesday-Friday throughout high school because you had your face plastered to a tiny tv in your room so your mom wouldn’t hear you watching Carson and Letterman until 1:30 in the morning while you ate Oreos in bed, YOU WILL LOVE THIS SHOW.
