My overall impression
Shelley is a star! I loved learning more about Lotte Lenya through this show, and loved the (what I assumed could be true-to-life) similarities between Shelley and Lotte as wide-range singers, performers, and deeply-feeling artists. Shelley’s voice is magnificent and every note she sang soared through the theatre. I appreciated both the dramatic sequences of the show and the comedic moments, as well as the incorporation of dance and movement. Brava to bringing Lotte’s story to life in this way, and brava to Shelley for pouring her heart into this vulnerable show and this showcase of her talents!!!
