About the Project
Comedian Lisa Gopman, like many people, was having a difficult pandemic. Her theatre business was closed indefinitely and she was trapped in her tiny, tiny, tiny, one bedroom apartment with her husband. Then the unthinkable happened. Lisa got a call that her beloved dad, Arnie, was unexpectedly in a coma. Lisa and her husband spent the next year navigating Arnie’s entire life in Ohio. For much of the time, Arnie was trapped in the Ohio medical system, unable to fully communicate and suddenly showing signs of a brain issue. Lisa had to learn a whole new set of life skills to protect her dad while desperately trying to hold onto her humor and her sanity.
