What I liked
The fireflies. The lake. The fire. The depiction of the pain and joy, the sacrifices that artists make to follow their dreams.
What I didn't like
I think it should be a hour and a half. The audience wanted to keep playing
My overall impression
Mark is a great comedic talent. He is a master at audience interaction, he is a vivacious, energetic hilarious performer and his joke writing is super sharp (and silly.) But to simply focus on Mark’s comedic abilities undersells the truly innovative, beautiful piece of theater he has created. Mark transports his audience to another world using mostly things you can get at the 99 cent store. I don’t think I have been more inspired by a peer and he is a huge influence on my art. I am so grateful we have someone like Mark making truly amazing pieces of theater.
