I loved the drag!!!!!! Honestly I think that solidified my drag awakening, I feel like I’m going to actively seek out drag king shows now. The opening song was also so fun. I also love love loved how sensitive and personal topics were handled with humor and heart. When there were jokes around hard things, which there often were, they felt like a playful examination that made the audience feel completely at ease. That’s an important point — they really shared the space with us and made us feel totally comfortable exploring tough subjects, which allowed us to laugh along with them.
What I didn't like
I loved the show no notes!
My overall impression
I laughed. I cried (not too much though because humor punctuated the moments of sadness). Titi Lee is a warm presence onstage — leading us through a story of identity and grief that at once seems spontaneous and carefully orchestrated. This feels like a piece born of love that does not tell us to care for the people in our lives, but instead shows us how we can. But also, and I do not want to let this go without emphasis, they are so, so funny.
